Why do I see "Private" instead of the individual's name?

This family tree has living individuals hidden to all visitors as well as individuals who have died within the last 20 years. To view these hidden individuals, users must sign up for an account and be validated as a living relative of James Jeter. Then the user will be able to log into the website and view the hidden individuals.


What do the icon symbols mean?

Throughout the website icons are used to represent meanings. The following is a list of those icons and what they mean.

Icon Description
Reminder Anniversary - This can be found at the top of column headings. It represents how many years since the event happened. It is the anniversary of that event based on the current date.
Female Female - This represents a female. It can be seen on the page to indicate the individual's gender. It can also be an option to click on to add a Daughter to a family.
Male Male - This represents a male. It can be seen on the page to indicate the individual's gender. It can also be an option to click on to add a Son to a family.
Pedigree

Pedigree - This icon is to display the pedigree of an individual. The list that is displayed may vary based on the individual and the information based on that individual. The list may include but is not limited to:

  • Ancestors
  • Compact Tree
  • Decendants
  • Family Book
  • Fan Chart
  • Horuglass Chart
  • Interactive Tree
  • Pedigree
  • Relationship to Me (must be logged in and associated with an individual in the tree)
Zoom Zoom In - This will show additional information about the individual
Zoom Out - This will hide additional information, if it was zoomed in, about the individual
