Mrs. Janie Jeter
Mrs. Janie Allen Jeter, 84, died after a sudden attack at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.O. Kimbrell, Greer, Rt. 6, where she had made her home for the past month.
Mrs. Jeter was born in Laurens County but spent most of her life in the Mountain Creek community of Greenville County. She was a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church.
Since the death of her husband, E. C. Jeter, who died in March, 1950, Mrs. Jeter has made her home with her children. She was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Workman Allen.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. H.O. Kimbrell of Greer, Rt. 6, Mrs. R.D. DeYoung of Spartanburg, Mrs. Ansel A. Vaughn and Mrs. I.M. Vaughn of Greenville, Rt. 5; three sons, E.E. Jeter of Greenville, E.L. Jeter of Bradenton, Fla., D.G. Jeter of Ware Shoals; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Walsh of Greenville and Mrs. B. F. West of Hendersonville, N.C.; 27 grandchildren, 44 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
