UNION - Angielee Morrow Strother, 84, of 221 Strother Road, Santuck community, died Feb. 18, 1997, in Wallace Thomson Hospital after a sudden illness.

A native of Spartanburg County, she was the widow of L.T. Strother and daughter of the late Angus and Maggie Smith Morrow.

She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Pauline, and attended Salem Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Asheville Normal Teacher's College and served as a public school teacher for more than 40 years. She retired from the English Department at Union High School.

Survivors include five daughters, Jean Strother and Mary Kate Raker of Charlotte, N.C., Nancy Strother of Miami Beach, Fla., Gloria Gaines of Mount Airy, Ga., and Bonnie Lawrence of Silver Spring, Md.; one sister, Mary C. Morrow of Pauline; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. M. Earl Lee. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home.
