Captain of 1st Clemson Football Team in 1896: https://clemsontigers.com/1896-first-team-first-game/ Went on to PA Medical College to become a physician. During WWII, he formed the SC Medical Corps. He received medals for bravery and heroism, receiving extensive injuries to his lungs from mustard gas. He could no longer practice medicine and became a malariologist with the health department and later worked with SCE&G while they were building Lake Murray.
