Native of Darlington; son of the late J. W. and Mary Smith Strother; a mason and poultry and cattle farmer; first married to the late Kate Jeter Strother.
Also surviving: daughters, Mrs. Charles Gains of Clarksville, Ga., Mrs. George Lawrence of Silver Springs, Md., Miss Nancy Strother of Miami, Fla., Miss Jean Strother and Mrs. John Racker of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hudson of Timmonsville and Mrs. Robert Spears of Lamar; brothers, Alton, Hallie and Wilbert Strother of Timmonsville.
Services 3 Sunday at A. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Marvin Hembree and W. S. McAhley: burial in Union Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Johnny and Lewis Raker, Jim Crocker, Joe Adams, Ronnie and Johnny Strother.
Family to receive friends 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
