He was a cotton buyer, planter and merchant. He was in the merchandising business from 1875 until 1931, the year of his death. The store was located in Santuc, SC. After his death, the firm continued under the management of Parham and Louise Jeter. Little Berry was the father of 14 children, 12 of whom were living in 1931.
